Still not a PX-10

http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/bik/3803584086.html
Vintage Peugeot PX-10 - $400 (mt airy)

Top of the line racing bike from the 1970s. Full Reynolds 531 tubing. Simplex Drop-outs. Original owner had this professionally repainted brown and decals were replaced. Looks great! Large size. Simplex derailleurs and shifters. Stronglight crankset. Normandy luxe competition hubs with fiamme yellow label clincher rims. Mafac brakes. Needs a little work to get it riding.

Just to keep the theme going, this is not a PX-10, it's a PRN-10.  The visual cue are the Stronglight 49d cranks, instead of Stronglight 99's.  And he lets us know they're using Normandy hubs instead of the Maillard's that came on the PX-10.  A new paint job is also always a big red (brown) flag.  I think this is just a case of mistaken identity rather than a malicious sale.  But you're starting to see what I mean with these.

Raleigh Super Grand Prix and Lies

http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/ank/bik/3839768257.html
Raleigh super grand prix - $305 (st cloud )

Vintage ten speed road bike. it is an early 80's Raleigh super grand Prix. Made in England. Reynolds double butted frame, very light very strong. New rear spokes, New tires last fall, Freshly tuned derailleur, vintage brooks narrow saddle from the 80's. Bike rides excellent and looks even better. Call or text with any questions and ill be happy to answer

I have one of these bikes, and I really like it.  Mine is a '78 in the Pearl Green.  You see a ton of Grand Prix' but not a lot of Super's, which were basically the same bike with bar end shifters.  I paid a little over half of what he's asking and for a semi unusual low end model I thought that was fair.  It did not come with a Brooks saddle, which is not original.  I mean I dont know for the bible truth that it's not original, but it's not original.  The big gaping lie in this ad though, is the bike isn't the implied Reynolds tubing, which was 531 for the high end Raleighs, it's 20-30 hi tensile steel.  You can see the 20-30 sticker in the bottom picture.  Not a tank, not a light weight.  Great bike, too much money.  I haven't ridden mine in forever but I think I'll pull it out.
