Vintage, Basso, Italian Road Bike (Full Shimano 105) - $250 (appleton)

Up for sale is a 50cm, 14-speed road/race bike with full Shimano 105 components. It does haze a Campagnolo aero seatpost. The frame was made in Italy of Columbus Acciaio Speciale tubing and is very light and super fast!!!!! The bike rides nice appearance is pretty good(it does have some surface rust on the fork). Super cool Green and fuscia color scheme. The bike is 50cm and is Perfect for a smaller sized rider.

Basso bikes are a family bicycle firm based in Italy founded by noted racer Marino Basso and his two brothers.  Columbus Acciaio Speciale is a generic sticker that just means "Columbus Special Steel."  These stickers were used on multiple grades of steel from the mid 80s - early 90s, so while generic usually indicates lower end thats not something you can take as granted here.  With more research you could probably identify the actual grade of tubing but at $250 for the complete bike I cant imagine any Columbus tube set that would make you balk.

The fork needs a good scrub, that would probably take care of it.  It's strange that the fork has taken so much patina but the frame and wheels look super clean.  It is Wisconsin, after all, and I'll bet road salt had a lot to do with it.  Newer steal frame, Shimano 105 all around.  Overall, the bike is a bit of a steal.  I dont even mind the color scheme.
